The house is a typical village house in a traditional Andalucian white village. Entering by a large door from the street directly into the living accommodation. Consists of an open plan living with window overlooking the street and kitchen area with window to and door leading to a glass covered terrace area, with washing machine, door to new bathroom with Moroccan style tiling and luxury hydro massage shower.
Stairs from living area lead to 2 bedrooms. Further stairs lead to roof terrace and large storage area that could be converted or opened up. Roof terrace has been plumbed for water and a stand up shower and has all weather electric points and light fittings.
Bedrooms have traditional Andalucian shutters with views to street at the front and out over the cobbled village rooftops to the mountains at the rear.
The house had been extensively refurbished and is now let as a holiday home.
The village has gained greatly in popularity over the last few years and with the improvment of the new road from Ronda to Marbella this will only improve as the area becomes more accessible from the Costa del Sol. The road from Malaga is a motorway a lot of the way. Marbella and the beaches of Costa del Sol are about an hours drive and the Costa de Luz - the Atlantic Coast is similarly about an hours drive.
5 minutes away is a large lake - Lake Grazelema in the Sierra de Grazelema offering beaches and all manner of water sports, extensive walking, paragliding and numerous 'eco' activities.
Ronda is 10 minutes away and Seville about 40 mins. The airport at Jerez is 30 mins away and the main airport of Malaga an hour.
In the village itself are a number of restaurants and bars. There are numerous fiestas throughout the year and you would be made very welcome if you wanted to join in! There is a swimming pool and leisure centre in the village. The pretty town square is 3 mins walk away.
This is an increasingly popular area but as the surroundings are mainly national park building will be severely restricted. Guaranteeing that the area will remain as it is.
The race course at Jerez has been developed recently and now has several large Grand Prix type events - both motorbikes and cars. Several golf courses are in the area also.
The houe has been furnished in a modern style with everything brand new in 2010. There is currently no TV but a DVD player is available. This is a real away from it holiday home set in the heart of beautiful White Spanish village.
The Area
Ronda is Spain's second most visited towns and has some of Andalucia's most breathtaking views. It is situated on a hill above the surrounding countryside with an impressive river gorge which divides the town into the old and new parts. Ronda is the original home of bull fighting and whether you agree or not a visit to the old bull ring is a must for culture vultures!
Along the back streets of the old town are numerous fabulous tapas bars and restaurants as you would expect in such an old and established town. Not only ideal for shopping, for anyone with an appreciation of architecture and culture. There are as in any Spanish town numerous festivals and fairs not only religious but cultural also.
El Gastor and the surrounding area is perfect for walking, pony trekking, birdwatching, photography, hang gliding, fishing, mountain biking, cycling, and painting. About 20 minutes from the village is the Via Verde, one of Europe's best award winning cycle and walking routes.
The beautiful and unspoilt beaches of the Costa de la Luz and also accessible with their huge wide stretches of sand, ideal both for relaxing, admiring the myriad of kite and wind surfers or even joining in with classes and hire widely available in the Moorish town of Tarifa. Trips can also be organised from here to Tangiers - Morocco or just out into the bay whale and dolphin watching.
Easily accessible from El Gastor are the towns of Cadiz, Jerez and Seville all with their own charms and appeal. People watching from one of the many cafes or Carmen - the opera in the open air in Seville!
