Take a look at Morocco
It's time to look a little further afield for property than the traditional locations in Spain, Portugal and France and I think Morocco bears a mention or two. I've looked at Morocco several times recently and even presented a TV programme on it in my 'The next big thing' series. I think it has tremendous potential for investors and holiday homeowners alike.
Property in Morocco
Property in Morocco is surprisingly good value for a country that has an unspoilt Mediterranean coastline, soft sand beaches and turquoise waters. It's reminiscent of 1970's Costa del Sol (not that I'm old enough to remember then, of course!) before the high rises were built. But, in contrast, the king and government of Morocco have decreed that 3-storey buildings shall be the maximum and development is being stringently controlled.
Whether you're looking for a holiday home, a property for investment or even somewhere to move to for a change in lifestyle Morocco has it all. The cost of living is amazingly low, the people are really friendly and the food is stunning many other varieties for the price of a beer in the UK - wine included!
Living in Morocco
Of course, English is not yet as widely spoken as in many of the tourist areas of Spain but I would expect that to change as more and more English people visit and settle there. For the time being, though, a smattering of French will go a long way.
